Taking a Bite Out of The Kingsway
What a fantastic weekend it was for the 14th annual Taste of the Kingsway – nothing but sunshine and blue skies. The only problem attendees did encounter was deciding where to eat and when to stop. The Kingsway BIA and merchants presented the popular festival on September 10th and 11th this year. Bloor Street was closed off to traffic from Prince Edward Drive to Montgomery Road both days to allow families to freely stroll up and down the street and enjoy the fun-filled activities. In addition to the tempting eats, there were rides, carnival games, an exotic car show, musical entertainment, living statues, clowns, face painting, a rock climbing wall, a market and culinary theatre, and much, much more. The hugely popular Great Lakes Brewery beer and wine garden was packed all weekend long. The spot allowed people to kick their feet up and enjoy a cold one while watching the live musical performances. And Carlson Wagonlit hosted their annual pancake breakfast on Sunday morning in support of the Out of the Cold program. Thanks to all the sponsors, participating retailers and volunteers who made this year's festival a great success once again.
