Sam Smith Gets a Spring Cleaning

Undaunted by the unseasonable snow and sleet, local residents grabbed bags and stuffed them with trash on April 17. A total of 48 volunteers came out to pick up litter in Colonel Samuel Smith Park. The annual clean-up was organized by local resident Alan Roy with the co-operation of Friends of Sam Smith Park. Among the usual pop cans and beer bottles, there were several golf balls and even a garden chair. Laurel Broten, Liberal MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, took part with her son. Let's all pitch in by carrying our rubbish a few steps further to the nearest bin.
