Tibetan New Year Celebration
Etobicoke New Year's revellers joined members of The Canadian Tibetan Association of Ontario on February 14th to celebrate the annual Losar festivities, which this year marked Tibetan Calendar 2137, the Year of the Tiger. The Tiger is said to usher in luck, vividness and success. Members of the Tibetan community donned gorgeous traditional costumes and were joined by fellow Etobicoke residents, who enjoyed the event's delicious food, energetic company, pomp and ceremony. When the children's choir sang the Tibetan national anthem, faces were agleam.
