Enthusiastic students from Western Tech after the dip

TDSB Polar Bear Dip for Haiti

Wednesday March 10th was chilly down by lake and thus conditions were perfect for a polar bear plunge. Students and staff from three high schools took their lessons out of the classroom and into the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. The schools represented each area of the city: west, central and east. Over 300 supporters got goose-bumped to raise funds for Free The Children, a group who have pledged to rebuild schools and provide continued medical relief to our shattered global neighbours. High-spirited partisans met on the beach with painted faces and mascots, and flashed their school colours before diving in.
