Every Wednesday night, Hollywood Bar and Grill presents “Jam Night” with host Dylan Hennessy. The open stage format Jam Night takes musicians of any discipline who want to get up on stage and showcase their abilities. This will give performers of Etobicoke a bigger stage than is regularly offered by a typical open mic, and a stage outside of downtown Toronto, where a large majority of open mics happen.
Hollywood bar and Grill, previously known as Hollywood on the Queensway, has become an Etobicoke landmark, and is taking the liberty of becoming south Etobicoke’s premier open stage. Hollywood is a spacious and beautifully decorated bar, dining room and entertainment centre. Seating 200 people on the main floor and 45 on the patio, it boasts a polished dance floor, a raised stage and a fully equipped DJ booth and sound system. For the performers, it provides a large but welcoming atmosphere, on-stage monitors, and even closed-circuit cameras for the audience watching in the back.
Dylan Hennessy, currently the host of Toronto’s ongoing acoustic showcase “Acoustic Addiction”, is thrilled and eager to add to the Hollywood’s legacy. “I feel that this is an amazing opportunity to showcase local talent that previously may have not had any venue to perform their work. I think that beginning Jam Night in such a great environment is going to become an Etobicoke talent magnet!”
The first Jam Night will be taking place on Wednesday, August 15th from 8:30-11:00, with the sign up happening at 7:30. Hollywood is located at 1184 The Queensway located on the north side of the street just west of Islington Ave.
